Founded by Sam Saiia as Birmingham Excavating Co. in 1946, the company now known as Saiia is an industrial heavy civil contractor of choice for the power generation, mineral and aggregate mining, and pulp and paper markets. With more than 630 pieces of construction machinery in our fleet, over 500 employees, and experience working in 11 states, we have the resources and knowledge to complete projects of any scale.

William Charles Electric is an electrical contractor specializing in municipal, industrial and high-voltage electrical utility construction. From the installation of traffic signals and underground cabling to the construction of high-voltage interconnects and substations, William Charles Electric supports a wide range of complex electrical transmission and distribution projects from beginning to end. William Charles Electric is part of MasTec's Clean Energy and Infrastructure segment. This relationship empowers us with access to robust resources, diverse capabilities and national reach, and the ability to deliver even greater value to our customers.

White Construction began as a small family-owned trucking and excavating company in the 1940s. Since our founding, the organization has grown tremendously, become a part of IEA and even reached publicly-traded status—yet the values that the White family instilled in the company remain core to our culture today. White Construction is a subsidiary of Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives, Inc. (IEA), a leading infrastructure construction company with specialized energy and heavy civil expertise. In 2022, IEA and its affiliated companies were acquired by MasTec and are now part of the organization's Clean Energy and Infrastructure segment.
